Meditation is a timeless practice that is now embraced by millions in our modern world as a supportive lifestyle therapy, and increasingly recommended by doctors for its positive benefits on our health and wellbeing. Research shows that it can be effective in dealing with symptoms of chronic stress, anxiety, depression, body pain and other medical conditions.

When faced with ongoing daily stresses and tensions, our nervous system remains in hyper-alert and is repeatedly ‘switched on’, causing excessive energy demands on our body. Meditation relaxes the nervous system and sedates the mind. It helps develop mindfulness in of daily activities and break habitual thoughts to awaken our ‘wise mind’.
The practice of meditation is not bound to any one correct method; nor is it necessary to master the art to gain benefits from doing it. The simplest of techniques will result in a clear, calm and equanimous mind to meet with whatever challenges life throws at us.

Suitable for those with none or some experience in meditation and wish to establish a daily practice.

The emphasis in this 6 weekly program is to:

• Bring an experiential understanding of how to achieve a natural state of meditation
• Demystify perceptions and beliefs about meditation practices
• Guide you in conscious sedation and relaxation techniques that ease body and refresh the nervous system
• Lead you in various mindfulness and meditation practices to still mind
• Help you find a suitable technique and incorporate mini meditations throughout the day

Program Presenter:
Sindar Kaur is a qualified and impassioned meditation teacher with 30 years of experience in several meditation, yoga and healing traditions. She trains and mentors all levels of meditators, yoga teachers and spiritual seekers alike. Along with being the Yoga Head and Teacher Trainer with a leading Sydney-based natural therapies college, she is a practicing Yoga Therapist and Transpersonal Coach/Counsellor.
