Considered taking up a meditation practice or felt the need at times to simply quiet down your mind and decrease the mental chatter?
Many people feel that it is impossible to meditate because they simply can’t ‘empty’ their minds and be in the present moment. This degree of mastery however, is not required to gain the benefits of meditation. The simplest of techniques will result in reduced mental stress and a calm, refreshed state of mind and body.
Modern scientific research has shown that a regular meditation practice:
- increases positive emotions, mental clarity and peace, immunity, relaxation response
- reduces anxiety, blood pressure, cholesterol, muscular tension, chronic stress
- can assist with depression, anxiety disorders, pain, addictions, phobias, headaches, insomnia, menopausal symptoms, hypertension, heart condition, a lack of joy
If you don’t know where to begin or put off by difficult techniques that don’t suit your temperament, learn with experienced teacher, Sindar Kaur. She has taught yoga and meditation for 20 years to people from all walks of life, including doctors, yoga teachers, natural therapists, corporations and people with various health issues.
The emphasis in this 6-week course is to:
- experience a range of meditation and deep relaxation techniques
- learn a suitable technique to keep an easy, regular practice
- gain the benefits of a relaxed, rejuvenated state of mind and body
- develop mindfulness and become aware of our inherently blissful nature
