Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine
Mei Deng

My name is Mei Deng and I was born in Beijing. I have studied in both Beijing and in Sydney. In Beijing, I majored in Chinese medicine and in Australia I completed a Master of Herbal Medicine at the University of Sydney. I completed a Masters of Acupuncture at the University of Western Sydney. I have been practicing Chinese Medicine for more than twenty years. On sunny days I enjoy walking along the beach and in the bush. I also love the piano, opera, movies and fine food.

When I was sixteen years old I joined the Chinese Red Army working as a nurse in a military hospital. I really enjoyed helping and taking care of people. As long as I can remember my mother was always unwell, so I decided to pursue a healing profession because I wanted to do more for my mother and for other people. I began to study Chinese medicine and I was very excited about acupuncture. I was inspired to learn more when I saw the impact that it had after just a few sessions. Since then I haven’t looked back.

I am grateful that I chose to study Chinese medicine, as I have really enjoyed helping to improve the quality of life of people suffering from illness and discomfort. I have also enjoyed the opportunity to participate in clinical trials.

My experience of my mother’s poor health led me to develop a strong belief in acupuncture. This also inspired my passion for understanding and working with my patients holistically and not just treating their symptoms. I believe with all my heart in how I practice and I always strive to improve.

I want to help people and am passionate about getting results and caring for my patients.

'Chinese medicine is a holistic approach to wellness, disease never happens suddenly to our body, disease forms over a long period of time. As our body goes out of balance, we are more subject to disease forming. An important principle of Chinese Medicine is to balance the body on a regular basis as this helps to prevent disease manifesting.
When disease does manifest, in Chinese Medicine, by rebalancing the whole body, disease can reduce.'
